Job description


 

Our client is leading manufacturer of Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFLs). The company was founded 1997 and is 100% privately owned and currently employs over 2000 employees. Our client produces a full line of CFLs providing  customers with one-stop-shop convenience. The product line includes: spiral, U-tube, floodlight, globe, A-Lamp, 3-way, circular, bug light, candle light, and others.

 

Since 2001, our client has become a partner of Energy Star, which implements and enforces the highest performance standard for CFLs in the USA market. Currently they have 58 models Energy Star listed. Following continuous new product development, more models will be added into the list. As an ISO certified factory, commitment on high quality can also be evidenced by all types of certifications: UL/CUL, CE, RoHS, CSA, FCC, SAA, PSE, SASO, etc.

 

Our client is an innovation power house in energy saving lighting. The patented TopSpiral technology is widely used to make the brightest CFL floodlight in the world. Our client is proud to be the first CFL manufacturer in the world to introduce a whole line of T2 spiral based on cutting edge T2 technology.

 

To meet the growing demand on the European market we seek to employ an;

 

European Sales Manager


To be successful the role demands that you have proven commercial skills and have at least 5 years experience in the lighting industry, preferably with sales of Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFLs) and LED Technology, and as such you know your way around the European lighting industry. You have an active network of contacts in the European lighting industry and you know who to contact to open doors and successfully setup business.

 

In time and with success, you will build and manage your team, based from our offices in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

 

You have a degree from a technical university or similar level school. You have developed your commercial skills by work experience and additional schooling. A MBA is certainly an advantage.

 

You are fluent in at least two of the following languages: English, Dutch and German. Proficiency of other languages such as French or Italian is an advantage.

 

Personality and behaviour

You can quickly come across as warm and friendly. You are empathic and demonstrate care and interest in others without losing focus on the needs of the task.

 

You have confidence in your ability to make decisions but will take into account others' view when this would be appropriate. You are creative but aware that your ideas need to fit within the companies' framework. 

 

You are exited and energized by goals, and what can be achieved. You set high standards for yourself and aim to get things 'just right'. You are quick to grasp the 'general idea' of a problem and provide workable solutions.

You focus on the practicalities of a situation and act accordingly. You are action-orientated with an eye the plan/goal and take into account what has worked/not worked in the past. You can be relied upon to wrap things up before moving on to the next task.

 

Salary and Benefits

Fixed salary, depending on qualification and experience, + bonus + company car.
